Attorney Brent J. Oenning grew up in Spokane, Washington and moved to the Phoenix area in 2003. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration / Accounting, Magna Cum Laude, from Washington State University in 1996 and his Juris Doctor, Cum Laude, from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2002. While in law school, he received numerous awards for outstanding performance in legal writing, taxation, and estate planning.

Prior to practicing law, Mr. Oenning spent four years in mid-size to large public accounting firms as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). As a CPA, his work focused primarily on the preparation of federal and state tax returns for partnerships, corporations, estates, individuals, non-profits, and pension plans. He also defended clients in IRS audits and handled other IRS matters.

Mr. Oenning has been a practicing attorney for over 23 years. Prior to starting Oenning Law Office, PLLC in December 2009, Mr. Oenning worked for several mid-size to large well-known Phoenix law firms focusing in the areas of business/corporate law, tax planning, estate planning, and real estate. His rare dual background in both tax accounting and law allows him to offer a unique perspective and ability when drafting and reviewing legal documents. Mr. Oenning is a seasoned business attorney with a tax emphasis, and he is able to skillfully handle small, medium and large matters in a way unlike most other attorneys. Oenning Law Office, PLLC serves clients in Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Glendale, Paradise Valley, Peoria, Chandler, Queen Creek, Cave Creek, Surprise and other Arizona communities.

Mr. Oenning resides in Scottsdale with his wife, two daughters, and family dog. He enjoys most sports, and in particular, supporting his daughters' club and high school swim team endeavors. In May 2025, he was also named the President of the Paradise Valley High School Swim & Dive Booster Club, which is an IRC Section 501(c)(3) non-profit set up to offer financial support to the swim and dive team. Other interests include attending professional sporting events, concerts, and travelling to anywhere with a nice beach near the ocean.
